Jeff Kratsch - OneLightBulb.Org Green Tech Will Drive Economic Recovery

I have been speaking a lot over the last few years about America's need to assume a leadership role in clean energy technologies and solving (or heavily mitigating) the global climate crises. I am happy to see an important change in attitudes and value systems of people across the world -and particularly in this country- as it relates to our shared dilemma... shifting from a mind set of wastefulness and resource depletion... to one of energy conservation and independence, recycling [everything w… Continue

Jeff Kratsch - OneLightBulb.Org Celebrating the Art and Design Community

This may be a bit off topic... on the surface. Yet, I wanted to celebrate the inauguration of a new forum for art and design professionals. It is in keeping with the ceremony of the launch of this unique online community of inspired and talented artists, craftsmen and design professionals that I write this post on on the topic of social marketing. In your respective fields, you cultivate ideas and create unique and compelling stories -masterpie… Continue

Man! I wish I had time to sit back and blog about all of the cool things we have been doing to implement the mission of OneLightBulb.org. We have been so busy signing up exhibitors -you know, the drivers of American innovation and sustainability entrepreneurs that will be showcasing their 'Green' products and services at our Green Business Expo- that I have not had time to think. Doug and Dianne Thompson Water - Food

Doug and I live on the N F Shenandoah River. We have been members of "Friends of the Shenandoah" since moving here in 99. This group inspires and educates the general population about how we as individuals can help keep our river clean. A yearly effort of local small craft boater's make a trip the length of the river to pick up trash and debris that careless folks have discarded. By doing this we help keep the water table cleaner and preserve a better habitat for local fish, frogs, wildlife and… Continue

Tim Hosey Gaming Needs to Be Greener

Not much of a "green" guy at the moment, but I'm hoping to improve. Save some energy, save the world, right? Anyways, I'm writing this since I work at a game store (Play N Trade on Cortez in Bradenton, FL) and I love the gaming industry in general (I'm an avid follower of the industry, the games, publications, etc.). I even have my own gaming-oriented Web site that brings industry news and reviews to gamers. My biggest complaint is that you don't see any game companies looking to be green. Gen… Continue

Joe Komor Global Warming may trigger an Ice Age

n quick summary, if enough cold, fresh water coming from the melting polar ice caps and the melting glaciers of Greenland flows into the northern Atlantic, it will shut down the Gulf Stream, which keeps Europe and northeastern North America warm. The worst-case scenario would be a full-blown return of the last ice age - in a period as short as 2 to 3 years from its onset - and the mid-case scenario would be a period like the "little ice age" of a few centuries ago that disrupted worldwide weathe… Continue

Craig One Person

It is possible for one person to affect the destiny of another person, and it is also possible to create a movement in an entire population, a nation, and even the world. We have seen it thousands of times, and wondered, “What kind of person is capable of doing something like that?” In reality, most of the great leaders and innovators were just average people with extraordinary passion. They believed in what they were doing to the point that it totally determined their path to success. Almost al… Continue
